Krishna Basin has witnessed many prosperous period during 

Its long history. The glorious historical account of time of the 

Acharya Nagarjun, the Chalukyas, the Vijayanagar Kingdom and 

Chhatrapati Shivaji has been an inspiring heritage for all. The 

Basin is again destined to play a critical role in the future 

prosperity of india. But the local, social & administrative 

organizations and the productive water 

Infra-structures in the basin will have to be suitably upgraded in 

a systematic manner to make the most appropriate use of the 

basins natural resources. It calls for a comprehensive 

understanding of the Basin’s set up and a collective integrative 

approach to the beneficial management of the Krishna Waters. 

This book is a humble effort to put together the different issues 

that have been raised in this context and to suggest a way 

forward.
